Prices and information

Ordering

Note: at this moment I'm not able to make payments with other countries except the Netherlands and Belgium. I'm working on this! Regardless of that I still wanted to give you some information :)

Do you want me to make an animal portrait for you? Well on this page I'm going to give you a bit more information about it.
If you've decided on the size and materials you want your drawing to be, you can contact me via email, or send me a DM on facebook and/or instagram
If you still got some questions about sizes or materials, feel free to send me an email with those. Maybe I can help you decide and/or give you some advice.
After the first email, we'll discuss more specific wishes you want in your drawing to assure all of your wishes.

When you're satisfied with the 'design' there will be asked to make a deposit of 30%. This is to cover some of the costs on making the drawing and is not refundable.

the process

When making the drawing, I'll make sure to regularly send you an email with an update on the drawing. That way, you can give me feedback on what you think so far and if you want to change anything.

When the drawing is completed and you're completely satisfied, the remainder of payment can be fulfilled. After the payment is received, I'll send out the order.

Making the drawing can take a few weeks. Besides drawing I also have a normal day to day job, meaning I'm quite busy. The materials I use are also not the fastest (especially the coloured pencils). It can easily take up to 30 hours to make one drawing.

So, if you want to give a drawing as a present to someone, make sure you place your order in time.

Shipping

I'm still looking in to shipping, so I can't tell you anything about that right now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Reference photos

I make my animal portraits from reference photos. But what is a good reference photo?

A good reference photo is a photo taken at the eye level of the animal. Doing that, you'll make sure that all the proportions are right. A sharp photo with good lighting is really important, I draw what I see. You'll see the difference if the reference photo wasn't sharp enough/has bad lighting. The last part to make a good reference photo are the eyes. The eyes are a very important part of an animal. Through the eyes, an animal shows you how it feels. If you have a photo with a reflection in the eyes, it's like the animal is telling a story on its own.

If your animal (unfortunately) passed away, I can still make a portrait if you want. We'll pick a photo together that will work best for the portrait (even if it doesn't fit all the requirements you've just read). I may use a few reference photos to make one drawing, this is to get the best result.

On the right there are two examples of a good and a less good reference picture (if you click the pictures they'll get bigger).
